ASUS Zenbook S

We partnered closely with the ASUS Design Group to establish a cohesive identity for Zenbook S balancing technology, lifestyle, and the essence of Zen. The result is a monolithic form softened at touchpoints, projecting precision and calm sophistication. This new design language stretches across ASUS's new S-Series lineup: S14 and S16.

Familiar Materiality

We embraced the distinctive stone-like finish of ASUS’s proprietary Ceraluminum™ technology to define the S-Series tactile character. This refined surface finish is exceptionally durable, yet approachable and sophisticated in hand, embodying the balance of resilience and elegance at the core of Zenbook’s new identity.

Considered Detail​​​​

Every detail is intentional, shaped by the principles of tranquility, simplicity, and balance. Minimal part breaks, seamless transitions, and carefully proportioned surfaces evoke serenity and calm. Sharp machined edges are balanced by soft sculpted contours, anchoring the machine in a sense of refined stillness. The result is a device that feels both purposeful and serene, reducing complexity to elevate focus.

Expressed Function

The interior composition is anchored by the alignment of the keyboard and the expansive speaker perforation, treated as a single visual element. This unification reduces visual clutter and amplifies harmony, transforming a technical requirement into a calm, iconic detail that communicates performance without disturbing the overall design.

Process & Collaboration

The creation of the Zenbook S-Series was the culmination of an extensive design journey, where MNML explored and challenged every gesture that could define a lasting design language. Through this iterative process, we refined what Zenbook could be, ultimately arriving at a language that is both timeless and distinct. Working hand-in-hand with the ASUS Design Group, the collaboration pushed the boundaries of possibility while staying true to the spirit of Zen.
